This Privacy Policy explains how the ID Photo app (“the App”, “we”, “us”) handles your information. By using the App you agree to the practices described below.

Summary

The App is built to be private by design. Your photos are processed entirely on your device and are never uploaded to our servers. We do not have access to your images, and we do not require an account to use the App.

Photos and On-Device Processing

  • All photo editing — background removal, cropping, face centering, resizing, and export — happens locally on your device.
  • We do not collect, transmit, store, or have access to the photos you import or create with the App.
  • Imported photos remain in your device’s storage and your photo library, under your control. You can delete them at any time.

Device Permissions

The App asks for only two permissions, and only when the feature you tapped needs them:

  • Camera — to take your ID photo. The camera feed is processed live on your device (including the background replacement you see in the preview) and is never recorded or transmitted.
  • Add to Photo Library — to save your finished photo when you ask for it. This is add-only access; the App does not request permission to browse your existing library. When you import an existing picture you pick it yourself through the system photo picker, which hands the App that one image and nothing else.

You can review or revoke either permission at any time in iOS Settings.

Information We Do Not Collect

We do not collect your name, contacts, location, or the contents of your photos. The App does not require you to create an account or sign in.

Purchases

In-app purchases (single-photo print unlock and the lifetime unlock) are processed by Apple through the App Store using your Apple ID. We receive confirmation that a purchase or restore occurred so we can unlock the corresponding features, but we do not receive or store your payment card details. Apple’s handling of your purchase is governed by Apple’s privacy policy.

Advertising

The App offers an optional rewarded ad as a way to obtain a free, screen-quality download. Ads are served by Google AdMob. When you choose to watch an ad, AdMob may collect device and usage information (such as a device advertising identifier) to deliver and measure ads, in accordance with Google’s privacy policy:

You can limit ad personalization through your device’s privacy settings. If you purchase the lifetime unlock, ads are removed.

Ratings and Feedback

The App can invite you to rate it, and offers a feedback form in Settings. Both are optional, and neither ever touches your photos.

  • Rating prompt. Whether and when to ask is decided on your device from counters kept locally (such as how many photos you have exported and which app version you last saw a prompt in). If you choose to leave a review, the rating itself is submitted to Apple through the standard App Store review sheet — we never see it.
  • Feedback form. If you send feedback, your message — plus anything else you choose to add, such as an email address for a reply or screenshots you attach yourself — is sent to our feedback service at rate.mzjpg.com, hosted on Cloudflare. Alongside it we send basic diagnostic facts that help us reproduce a problem: device model, iOS version, app version and build, language, region, and time zone. This is generic device information, not a persistent or unique identifier, and we use it only to answer and investigate your report.

Providing an email address is optional; without one we simply have no way to reply. To have feedback you have already sent deleted, email us at the address below.

Our Apps

The Settings screen lists our other App Store apps. That list is fetched at launch of the section from Apple’s public iTunes Lookup API so it stays current in your own storefront language. The request asks Apple for our developer catalog and sends no information about you; opening an entry hands you off to the App Store.

Diagnostics

If you have enabled sharing of analytics and crash data with developers in your device settings, Apple may share aggregated, non-identifying diagnostic information with us to help improve the App. This data does not include your photos.

Children’s Privacy

The App is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Data Security

Because your photos never leave your device through the App, the primary safeguard for your images is your device itself. We encourage you to protect your device with a passcode and keep your operating system up to date.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above and posting the revised policy at the link below.
