Ringtone Maker Privacy Policy

Overview

Ringtone Maker is an iOS app for turning a sound you already have — a song, the audio inside a video, your own voice, or a built-in effect — into a ringtone, alarm or alert tone for your iPhone. This policy explains what the app accesses, what leaves your device, and the choices you have.

Your audio stays with you. Projects, imports, recordings and exports are created and stored on your device. We do not operate a server that receives your audio, and you do not need an account to use the app.

Data We Collect

  • Microphone. Used only when you choose to record a track. Recordings are written into the app’s own storage on your device and are never sent to us.
  • Videos you pick from Photos. When you choose a video to pull the audio out of, the app reads only the item you picked, through Apple’s photo picker. It does not browse or index your photo library.
  • Files you import. Audio files you choose from the Files app are copied into the app’s workspace so projects keep working if the original moves. They are not uploaded.
  • Projects and exports. Timeline edits, clip and project names, track settings, generated waveform data, ringtone categories, and the record of each export are stored locally.
  • Settings. Preferences such as the haptics toggle, snap interval and any ringtone categories you create are stored in the app’s own settings on your device.

Ringtone Maker does not ask for your name, email address, contacts or location, and it contains no analytics or crash-reporting SDK.

How We Use Data

  • To provide the core function: import, record, edit, preview and export audio.
  • To keep your projects and exported ringtones organized and searchable inside the app.
  • To generate the GarageBand project the app hands you when you choose that route for installing a ringtone.

All audio editing, waveform drawing, rendering and export happen on your device.

Data Storage

  • Projects, imported audio, recordings, waveform data, materials and exported ringtones are stored on your device, in the app’s own storage.
  • We do not store your audio, projects or exports on any server we control.
  • You can delete individual projects, materials and exported ringtones inside the app. Deleting the app removes everything it stored on your device.

Because your content stays on your device, its security is governed by your device’s own protections — passcode, Face ID or Touch ID, and iOS encryption.

Sharing

We do not sell or share your personal information. Your audio leaves your device only when you deliberately export it, open it in GarageBand, or send it through the iOS share sheet.

Third-Party Services

Ringtone Maker is free and supported by advertising. Its network activity is limited to the services below, and none of them receives your audio, your projects or your exports:

  • Google AdMob. Ringtone Maker shows ads, and a short rewarded ad covers each export. To serve them, Google’s advertising SDK may process a device advertising identifier and ad-interaction data. This is used for advertising, and Ringtone Maker declares no cross-app tracking. See Google’s Privacy Policy.
    • In the EEA, UK and Switzerland, the app presents Google’s consent form before requesting ads, and your choice governs what Google may use.
    • Where iOS requires it, you will also see Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt. Declining does not restrict any feature of the app.
  • rate.mzjpg.com — our own rating and feedback service. Used only by the in-app rating prompt and the Feedback form. It fetches that prompt’s configuration, and sends anonymous prompt counts (which prompt was shown, which button was tapped, plus app version and language) that carry no identifier for you or your device. If you submit the Feedback form, it sends what you typed along with your device model, iOS version, app version and language — plus your email address and any screenshots only if you choose to add them. Feedback is used to reply to you and fix bugs, nothing else, and using the form is entirely optional.
  • Apple’s iTunes lookup service. The “Our Apps” section in Settings fetches our public App Store listings. This request contains no personal information about you.

Ringtone Maker uses no analytics, attribution, or crash-reporting service.

Your Choices

  • Grant or revoke Microphone access at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone. Revoking it disables recording; every other feature keeps working.
  • Manage advertising consent through your regional consent choices, and App Tracking Transparency in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
  • Delete any project, material or exported ringtone at any time from inside the app. Deleting the app removes everything it stored on your device.
  • Using the Feedback form, and adding an email address or a screenshot to it, is always your choice.

Children’s Privacy

Ringtone Maker is not directed at children under the age of 13, or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Updates will be reflected by the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
